Not that long ago British Aliyah Saleem wore the niqab, graduating at the strict islamic al-Huda school in Toronto, Canada.

That school recently had to close it's doors after it was reported that four of it's former students had joined terrorgroup IS in Syria.
Back in the UK Saleem gradually lost her faith, a process about which she wrote for The Times. After 'coming out of the closet', she co-founded an organisation called Faith to Faithless, which supports apostates of all religious backgrounds who can face isolation and ostracism.
